이번에는 아침 바다 풍경이 아름다운 고즈넉한 어촌 마을, 당진 왜목마을에 다녀왔습니다!

왜목마을은 지형 특성상 일출, 일몰, 그리고 월출까지 모두 한자리에서 볼 수 있는 국내 유일무이한 장소로 유명한데요. 

처음 이 이야기를 들었을 땐 '서해에서 일출을 본다고?' 싶어서 참 신기하기도 하고 오묘한 매력이 느껴지더라고요. 🌊✨

아침 일찍 도착해 바라본 왜목마을의 바다는 잔잔하게 밀려오는 파도 소리와 조용하고 평화로운 시골 어촌 마을의 풍경이 어우러져서, 운전하며 쌓였던 피로가 싹 달아나는 기분이었어요.

하지만 이번 여행에서 제 마음을 완벽하게 훔쳐간 진짜 신스틸러는 따로 있었습니다.

바로 마을에서 만난 하얀 고양이 한 마리! 🐾

사람 손길을 많이 탔는지 처음 보는 저한테도 냐옹거리며 다가와서 살랑살랑 애교를 부리더라고요. 

마을의 마스코트처럼 환영하는 것 같아서 한동안 바다를 배경으로 고양이랑 정신없이 놀았습니다. (심장에 해로운 귀여움이었습니다... 💘)

화려하고 복잡한 관광지보다 이렇게 고즈넉한 시골 바닷가 마을에서 바람을 쐬고, 순한 길냥이와 교감하는 시간이 주는 힐링이 참 크네요.

다음에는 시간에 맞춰 방문해서 일출부터 일몰, 그리고 달이 뜨는 월출까지 풀코스로 꼭 눈에 담아보고 싶습니다. 조용하게 힐링하고 싶으신 분들께 당진 왜목마을 강력 추천합니다! 👍

This time, I took a trip to Waemok Village in Dangjin, a charming and peaceful fishing village famous for its gorgeous morning ocean views!

What makes Waemok Village truly special is its unique geography—it’s one of the rare spots in Korea where you can watch the sunrise, sunset, and even the moonrise all from the exact same location! Hearing about that for the first time felt almost magical. 🌊✨

Arriving early in the morning, the view of the sea was breathtakingly serene. The sound of gentle waves crashing against the shore, combined with the quiet atmosphere of a rural fishing village, melted away all my stress from the drive down.

However, the real scene-stealer of this trip was an unexpected local resident: a friendly white cat! 🐾

This sweet little cat had zero fear of strangers, strolling right up to me and rubbing against my legs for attention. It felt like a warm, personalized welcome to the village! I spent quite a while playing with this adorable feline right by the water's edge. (My heart wasn't prepared for that level of cuteness... 💘)

Sometimes, instead of crowded and flashy tourist hotspots, spending quiet time in a peaceful coastal village like this—and sharing a warm moment with a gentle local cat—is the best kind of healing.

혼자서 오징어볶음 2인분 부수고 온 신진항 방문기 🦑🔥Tackling a 2-Person Squid Feast Solo at Sinjin Port!

여름의 열기가 한창인 요즘, 오징어 조업이 대풍년이라는 소식을 듣고 태안의 끝자락 신진항으로 달려갔습니다!

소문대로 서해 오징어가 쏟아져 나오는 시기라 그런지, 항구에 빽빽하게 들어찬 어선들의 풍경이 정말 어마어마하더라고요. 

부두 전체에 활기가 넘쳐나는 모습을 보니, 예전에 바이크를 타고 고생고생하며 전국을 누비던 여행의 추억들이 새록새록 떠올라 혼자 감성에 젖기도 했습니다. 

(역시 바다는 사람을 센치하게 만들어요…!)

항구 주변엔 역시나 통오징어찜, 오징어회, 오징어볶음 등 발길을 사로잡는 식당들이 즐비했는데요. 

제 선택은 바로 '황금돼지집'!

목표는 오직 하나, 매콤한 오징어볶음이었습니다. 

그런데 아뿔싸…! 😱 

오징어볶음은 2인분 이상만 주문 가능하다는 안내를 받았습니다. 

순간 '혼자서 2인분을...?' 하고 3초간 뇌동지진이 왔지만, 여기까지 와서 오징어를 포기할 순 없었죠.

"남기더라도 먹고 죽은 귀신이 꼴도 좋다! 2인분 주세요!"

결과는? 완벽한 대만족! 👍

메인인 오징어볶음의 매콤달콤함은 말할 것도 없고, 함께 나온 밑반찬 라인업에 감동받았습니다. 

계란말이, 콩나물무침, 오이무침, 고사리무침, 볶음김치, 양념새우, 그리고 노릇한 생선구이까지! 

마치 시골 할머니 집에 놀러 와서 양껏 대접받는 든든한 집밥 느낌이었어요.

거기에 칼칼한 순두부찌개까지 곁들여 나왔는데, 찌개 종류는 시기별로 조금씩 바뀐다고 하더라고요. 

자주 방문하시는 현지인분들에겐 소소한 즐거움이 될 것 같아요. 

태안 끝자락이다 보니 주로 어업에 종사하시는 분들의 든든한 한 끼를 위해 이렇게 정성껏 차려내시는 게 아닐까 싶었습니다.

비록 왕복 운전 거리는 꽤 길었지만, 항구의 활기찬 에너지도 받고 엄청난 식사까지 마치고 나니 오길 참 잘했다는 생각이 듭니다.

다음엔 식성 좋은 친구 한 명 데리고 와서 통오징어찜까지 싹 털어봐야겠어요! 🦑✨

Tackling a 2-Person Squid Feast Solo at Sinjin Port! 🦑🔥

With summer in full swing, I heard news that the squid harvest is booming on the west coast, so I took a drive down to Sinjin Port, located at the very edge of Taean!

True to the rumors, the harbor was packed with an unbelievable number of fishing boats. 

Watching the lively, bustling docks brought back fond memories of my past road trips on a motorcycle—back when traveling was tough, but full of passion.

The streets around the port were lined with restaurants selling mouth-watering whole steamed squid, squid sashimi, and spicy stir-fried squid. 

My pick for the day was a local spot called 'Hwanggeum Dwaeji-jib' (Golden Pig House).

My heart was set on the Spicy Stir-fried Squid (Ojingeo-bokkeum). 

But there was a catch: it was minimum 2 servings only! 😱 

After a brief 3-second panic, I decided I hadn't driven all this way just to back down.

"Even if I can't finish it all, I'm doing this! 2 servings, please!"

And the verdict? Absolutely worth it! 👍

Not only was the stir-fried squid perfectly spicy and delicious, but the side dishes (banchan) completely blew me away. 

The spread included rolled omelets, seasoned bean sprouts, cucumber salad, bracken fern, fried kimchi, seasoned shrimp, and even grilled fish! It felt like a hearty, comforting home-cooked meal.

They even served a bubbling soft tofu stew (sundubu-jjigae) on the side. 

Apparently, the soup changes periodically, which must be a nice touch for the regulars. 

Since it's located right by the fishing grounds, the menu seems thoughtfully crafted to deeply satisfy the hard-working local fishermen.

It was a pretty long drive, but taking in the vibrant energy of the harbor and enjoying a legendary meal made every mile worth it.

Next time, I'm definitely bringing a buddy so I can tackle the whole steamed squid too!

휴가철 텅빈 소도시, 강경 대탐험 Ganggyeong-eup, Nonsan-si, Korea

모두가 어디론가 휴가를 떠난 시즌, 나는 반대로 조용함이 흐르는 논산 강경읍으로 향했다.

인구 7천여 명의 작은 소도시. 계절 탓인지 본래 가려던 유명 식당들은 모조리 문을 닫았고, 강경의 자랑인 전통시장과 젓갈거리마저 인적이 드물어 한적함 그 자체였다. 텅 빈 골목이 주는 생경함에 잠시 당황했지만, 오히려 도시의 소음에서 완벽히 벗어난 기분이 들었다. 🍲 주민들의 숨은 맛집: 냄비째 끓여 먹는 해물칼국수 금강산도 식후경인데 문 연 곳을 찾다가, 마침 지역 주민들로 북적이는 칼국수집 한 곳을 발견하고 망설임 없이 들어갔다. 이곳의 칼국수는 새우와 조개가 듬뿍 들어간 육수 냄비를 테이블에서 바로 끓여가며 건져 먹는 방식이다. 한 입 삼키는 순간 퍼지는 깊은 감칠맛과, 씹을수록 탱글탱글한 면발의 식감에 완전히 반해버렸다!

재밌는 점은 나를 제외한 거의 모든 테이블이 칼국수와 함께 돈까스를 주문해서 먹고 있었다는 것. 현지인들의 '국룰' 조합이었던 걸까? 바삭해 보이는 돈까스의 자태에 다음엔 꼭 저것도 먹어보리라 다짐했다. 🌅 금강의 일몰과 유람선 카페에서의 마침표 배를 든든히 채우고 발길 닿는 대로 골목길을 거닐었다. 얼마쯤 걸었을까, 수량이 넉넉하게 채워진 금강변에 다다랐다. 붉게 물들어가는 일몰을 보며 강변을 따라 걷는 산책길은 그 자체로 힐링이었다.

풍경에 취해 하천길을 따라 걷다 보니 저 멀리 하얀 유람선 모양의 독특한 건물이 눈에 띄었다. 홀린 듯 들어간 그곳은 바로 선상 분위기를 낼 수 있는 카페! 원래는 고소한 밤라떼를 마시려고 했지만, "논산 하면 딸기지!"라는 생각에 말차딸기라떼를 주문했다. 쌉싸름한 말차와 달콤한 딸기의 조합을 즐기며, 창밖으로 펼쳐진 금강의 야경을 내려다보니 이번 여행의 완벽한 마침표가 완성되었다.

유유자적 흘러가는 강물처럼, 잠시 쉼표가 필요할 때 또 찾아오고 싶은 강경이었다. 

A Quiet Escape: Wandering through Ganggyeong-eup, Nonsan During the peak vacation season, while everyone was heading to crowded hotspots, I took a detour to Ganggyeong-eup, a serene small town with a population of around 7,000.

Because of the holiday season, the restaurants I originally planned to visit were all closed. Even the famous traditional market and the Salted Seafood (Jeotgal) Street were nearly empty. It felt like having a whole town to myself—peaceful, quiet, and delightfully surreal. 🍲 Local Gem: Boiled-at-the-Table Kalguksu Searching for an open spot to eat, I stumbled upon a local Kalguksu (noodle soup) restaurant packed with neighborhood locals.

Their signature dish is served in a big pot right on the table, packed with fresh shrimp and clams. You boil it right in front of you and scoop out the piping hot noodles. The rich, savory broth combined with the incredibly chewy texture of the noodles completely blew me away! One amusing thing I noticed: almost every single table—except mine—had ordered a side of Pork Cutlet (Donkatsu) alongside their noodles. Seeing how delicious it looked, I immediately regretted not ordering one myself. Next time, for sure! 🌅 Sunset by the Geumgang River & A Cruise-Ship Cafe With a satisfied stomach, I spent the evening wandering through the peaceful alleys until I reached the Geumgang River, overflowing with abundant water. Walking along the riverbank while watching the glowing sunset was pure magic.

As I continued along the stream path, a striking white structure shaped like a cruise ship caught my eye. Curious, I simply couldn't resist stepping inside. I initially wanted to try a Chestnut Latte, but since Nonsan is famous nationwide for its strawberries, I opted for a Matcha Strawberry Latte instead. Sipping the bittersweet matcha paired with sweet strawberries while looking down at the serene river view was the ultimate way to wrap up the trip.

If you ever need a slow, peaceful retreat away from the noise of the world, Ganggyeong is waiting for you.

신선한 육회와 아삭한 식감의 조화주문한 육회비빔밥이 나오자마자 비주얼에 감탄했어요. 육회 고기 자체가 정말 신선해서 씹는 맛과 식감이 예술이더라고요. 야채들과 함께 슥슥 비벼서 한 입 먹으면, 고소하면서도 매콤달콤한 맛이 입안 가득 퍼집니다. 제가 지금까지 먹어본 육회비빔밥 중에서 단연 최고라고 말할 수 있어요.🍲
